Contraceptive Management

After taking part in this educational activity, participants should be better able to:

Detail the new contraceptive methods available in the last year.

Review the different strategies available to improve patient satisfaction with their contraceptive method.

Provide accurate information about the efficacy and use of common contraceptive methods.


Geriatric Pharmacotherapeutics: A Focus on BEER's Criteria

After taking part in this educational activity, participants should be better able to:

Identify at least three pharmacologic risk factors that older adults face.

Recall at least three issues that put older adults at increased risk for adverse drug events.

Name at least three medications that are typically inappropriate for older adults.


Managing Depression: Beyond the SSRI

After taking part in this educational activity, participants should be better able to:

Differentiate unique elements among the SSRIs.

Orthopedics: Upper Extremities

The Pelvic Exam 2.0: Care of the Adolescent

After taking part in this educational activity, participants should be better able to:

Details the correct positioning and pre-pelvic exam preparation recommended for a successful examination.

Recognize common, normal variations in the appearance of the cervix.

List the proper order of physical examination steps to complete the pelvic exam.

She provided comprehensive primary care for over 22 years, practicing 10 of those years in an independent NP-owned practice, and she currently practices in College Health. Dr. Feeney has been an educator for over 20 years, dedicated to teaching, mentoring and supporting NP students.


Sally K. Miller, PhD, APRN, FAANP, PMHNP-BC, FNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, AGPCNP-BC

Dr. Sally Miller has been a practicing nurse practitioner for 28 years. She holds four nurse practitioner certifications including Family, Adult-Gerontology Acute Care, Adult-Gerontology Primary Care, and Psychiatric Mental Health. Dr. Miller is a clinical professor at Drexel University College of Nursing and Health Professions in Philadelphia.

Dr. Vanessa Pomarico-Denino is a Senior lecturer for Fitzgerald Health Education Associates (FHEA) and is employed by Northeast Medical Group (NEMG) in Hamden, CT. An author, educator, volunteer and nursing leader, she is the lead clinician for the Diversity and Inclusion committee and is the system-wide trainer for NEMG on LGBTQIA+ healthcare. She has been an NP for 23 years and has a large LGBTQIA+ practice.

Dr. Kathleen Haycraft is a family, pediatric and dermatology nurse practitioner. Kathleen is a published author of numerous books and journals. She has served as a national speaker at dermatology conferences and on dermatology content for general conferences.
